I'm a foreigner lost in Japan, just rambling so I don't corrupt my English with Japanish. I've lived in Japan for a while, and I speak the language fluently (maybe a TOO fluently). I like Japanese comedy, walking and going out for drinks with the few friends I have.

Disappeared

almost 9 months later, Im back blogging here.

I started a new blog or diary as its called in the site I have switched to. I have been blogging in Japanese in a site called mixi. Its more in the line of friendster in Japan, were you have to have friends already members to introduce you to the site. I got someone from chat to introduce me to it and I have since then expanded it from there.

I thought since I was learning Japanese, living in Japanese, might as well blog in Japanese too to help me with my read/writing skills.

Whatever I write, I'll try to write the same here.

The beach

Last week, during the japanese unofficial summer holidays, I went for a walk along the beach.

Its too hot during the day and I went in the evening around 4:00pm when its a little cooler. The beach was a not very crowded, mixed with families and groups of younger people. As I walked along I saw two young girls, tanned dark chocolate walking along. They had just come out of a beach bar and I assumed they were college kids on their summer break. We made small conversation but we split as I continued walking on the beach and they went to their beach mats. Next to them were two guys, I assumed they were their boyfriends.

I went to the end of the beach and on my way back, two girls were still there minus the two guys. I sat next to them and started small talk. One was sitting in front of me, wearing a yellow bikini, the other on her stomach, wearing a black bikini. I asked them if they were college students and they answered they were "sort of" of students. I assumed they were in highschool ready for college or finished highschool and was in a vocational college.

During small talk, two guys on sand buggies were trying to get the girls to ride with them. They didn't want to, the guys said they've got drinks where they were and the girls said they were "too young" to drink. They guys eventually drove off but I was left wondering. So I asked if they were really too young or were bullshitting about their age just to get the guys to drive off. They said they were really young, 15 years old.

HOLY SHIT!!! I was oggling at 15 year olds.. I was getting a little sick to the stomach about myself. When they said they were "sort of" students, they were trying not to say they were in middle school. I should have left soon after I found out but I continued the small talk, and asked if they finished their summer homework. After a while I did leave, my mind still spinning at the fact I was talking to 15 year old kids.

Girls, when they young, they try to dress and act older by make up. When they come old, they want to look young and use the make up available to them. I'm confused... is any female comfortable with their age and looks?

Book cover

Its true, don't judge a book by its cover, or a person by the way he/she dresses.

I met buslady for the second time (read post wow). This time her son wasn't included, he had gone to her parents for the summer holidays and she was alone. I thought it was my chance to score. We met at the trainstation and walked to a garden coffee shop. The coffee shop was located on a rooftop and I liked the cool breeze while sipping coffee... so I thought. It was hot, 35C (95 degree Fahrenheit for those in America) and being closer to the sun didn't help either.

She was wearing a flora print one-piece dress that showed her cleavage to the max. Her blood red bra was peeking through, and it seems her dress was one size too small and her breasts were squeezed in. I thought this was going to be easy.

We were together for a hour. I could have taken her down a floor, and had coffee indoors but I thought the shade would be cool enought... so I thought and was wrong.

We sat across each other, giving me a good view of her cleavage. I tried hard to avoid talking to her cleavage but I kept looking down. I wasn't sure whether she notice or was playing stupid, but she didnt bother to pull up her dress.

We were together for a hour before she had to go home. It seemed like she wanted to leave quickly to go home to an empty house (!?!?!?)

I sent an email after saying thank you and she replied but it didn't seem she was interested in meeting up again.

Oh well... You cannt judge a woman by what she wears.

bored

My life sucks. I haven't found anything to blog about for the past 2 weeks.

Its summer holidays here. Actually the Japanese, in their buddist traditions, go back to their ancestral homes and pray to their ancestors, during this time of year. You see this tradition also in Hong Kong and in Singapore where the Chinese believe that their dead come back.

Even at work, mood is holiday. Nobody is interested in working. Everyone I work with also in holiday mood.

Also during the summer, the Japanese Annual Highschool Tournament starts. Dedicated students, all, dream on winning it all and moving on to the pros. The tournament is held at Koshien stadium, sacred grounds for these students. You often see students from the losing team, standing while the winning school anthem plays, with tears streaming, standing in front of their bench. The winning gets to stand across the home plate, facing center field. When the anthem finishes, the students run in front of their respective supporters and thanks them for their support. In the bleachers, you see the classmates also in tears when their teams looses.

After all that, the loosing team comes back and starts to take back a dirt from the ground they were playing on. I don't know how this tradition started but its pretty touching, how much these students honor the grounds they just played on.

I'm planning to go see the games on this weekend. Hopefully I'll have something to blog about.

MI 3

I went to see Mission Impossible 3 yesterday. It was the end of a 3-day weekend and I decided to go.

First, Tom Cruise is Tom Cruise no matter what movie he is in. I find him a shallow as an actor with out any depth in any of his performance.

Second, Michelle Monaghan is hot. She's sexy in the movie. But I could never understand why any guy would want to put himself in danger, going on "missions" instead of spending time with his wife, especially if it was Michelle Monaghan.

Third, Keri Russell (aka Felicity) was in the movie for maximum 5 minutes. Her part could have been done by anyone, better an "up-and-coming" actor who could benefit more with the 5 minutes of exposure with Tom Cruise.

Fourth, I found myself trying to fast-forward parts of the movie with my invisible remote control. The movie was slow in the middle. Story could have been better.

Fifth, I smelt the rat when I first saw Billy Crudup (Musgrave). Seriously, don't give away the story in the first 15 minutes of the movie. My money could have been better spent in the arcade.

Anybody else see the movie?
